Spirit of Stones – How Hawaiʻi inspired our new collection

Sometimes, it just takes one moment to take your breath away – a ray of light hitting the ocean, a warm breeze rustling through palm trees. For our content production team, it was a whole series of those moments, captured during their latest photoshoot on the island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi.

While exploring the island, they didn’t just photograph stunning places – they captured moods, colors, and light you can only find there.
Back in Mannheim, our design team used these images as inspiration. Every scene, every tone of light and color made its way into the creative process behind our Spirit of Stones Collection. These pieces aren’t just adorned with real gemstones – they carry real island energy.

Come with us on a little journey through Hawaiʻi – and discover the breathtaking places that inspired the Spirit of Stones Collection:

Sunset over Shark’s Cove, Pūpūkea – where fire meets water

On Oʻahu’s legendary North Shore – famous for epic waves and its laid-back surf vibe – there’s a spot that completely stole our hearts: Shark’s Cove in Pūpūkea. Despite the name (which actually comes from the shape of the bay), it’s one of the island’s most beloved snorkeling and diving areas – full of coral reefs, colorful fish, lava rock and crystal-clear turquoise water.

But the moment that truly stayed with us happened above the surface: As the sun slowly set behind the horizon, the sky and ocean lit up in brilliant shades of orange, red and soft pink. In front of this glow: a surf shop lined with boards, a palm-framed basketball court – and a group of locals playing hoops in the golden light. That moment was pure island life.

You’ll feel this exact vibe in the Hawaiian Sunset pieces from our collection – where gemstones reflect the warmth, energy and freedom of the Pacific. Shark’s Cove isn’t just a place – it’s a feeling.

Makapuʻu Beach in the first light – the start of something new

On the far eastern tip of the island, at the end of the dreamy Kalanianaʻole Highway, you’ll find Makapuʻu Beach – a wild and powerful place, known for its black lava rocks, crashing waves and the iconic lighthouse watching over the cliffs.

When our team arrived there early in the morning, the sky was still soft and cool – streaked with grey-blue clouds – as the first sunlight broke through and turned the sea a glowing golden hue. Waves crashed against the rocks, sending white spray into the air. It was raw, intense, and strangely peaceful all at once.

Makapuʻu is about new beginnings, nature’s strength and clarity. You’ll find all of that in the gemstones we chose – reflecting the light, the lava and the water in one flowing color palette.

Hawaiʻi tip for early birds: The Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse Trail offers unreal ocean views – and if you're lucky, you might even spot whales in the distance.

Palikū Gardens, Kualoa Ranch – green magic between mountains and sea

Jewelry inspired by the Palikū Gardens, Kualoa Ranch

Tucked away on Oʻahu’s lush east coast, Palikū Gardens at the famous Kualoa Ranch feel almost too perfect to be real. Kualoa isn’t just one of Hawaiʻi’s oldest ranches – it’s also the backdrop for Hollywood blockbusters like Jurassic Park and Jumanji. And yes, it really does feel like stepping into a movie.

The gardens are pure tropical beauty: palm trees swaying between emerald-green mountains, colorful hibiscus flowers, and the scent of blossoms and warm earth in the air. This place grounds you – and lifts you up at the same time.

From the gardens, you can look all the way out to the ocean, where a tiny cone-shaped island called Mokoliʻi rises from the water. Locals call it Chinaman’s Hat – and for us, it became a symbol of longing, freedom and the courage to grow beyond your limits.

In our Island Dream pieces, we bring this energy to life: with stones that reflect the lush greens of the gardens and the deep magic of the sea.

A visit to Kualoa Ranch – especially the Palikū Gardens – is a must on any Oʻahu trip. Whether you’re joining a movie tour, hiking the mountain trails or just pausing for a quiet moment in the garden: This is the spirit of Hawaiʻi, pure and unforgettable.
